Council for African Diaspora (CAD)
Council for African Diaspora (CAD) stands for Unity, Collaboration, Empowerment and Networking amongst Africans in the Diaspora.
An initiative of CBI Community Network, CAD is created as an avenue for redefining and rewriting narratives of the African people in the diaspora.
The movement is negotiated around reunification not just to strengthen ties but also to build capacity and promote opportunities for social, political, and economic networking and connections.
Council for African Diaspora also aims at acknowledging, honoring and celebrating achievements and success stories within the African community.
Across continents, Africans have contributed immensely to global development; in spheres of life — yet, their excellence is often misrepresented, overlooked, or silenced. Africans have been misrecognized of their true identity and their uniqueness. Africans to global community.
Hence, CAD under the hospice of CBI Community Network will serve as a medium to spotlight and showcase excellence and celebrate impact and contributions of
CAD believes that if we do not tell our stories, no one will tell them for us. And by sharing our story in the reflection of our uniqueness, we uphold and maintain the values of our culture.
CAD movement is created to amplify the voices of Africans in the diaspora, preserves our cultural heritage, and unite us as one global African family.

Through this, we aim to inspire the next generation and actively support Africa’s development.

The CBI African Icons Merit Award
CAD was born out of the prestigious CBI African Icons Award initiative; an initiative created to honor and celebrate distinguished members of African communities who exemplify leadership, innovation, service, and community impact.
This prestigious CBI African Merit Award is more than a ceremony; it is a movement for solidarity, collaboration, and empowerment.
